PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out a new plant extract having testosterone 5α-reductase inhibiting action and/or androgen receptor binding inhibiting action and provide a new antiandrogen agent, a hair growing cosmetic, etc., for treatment and prevention suitable for symptoms such as male pattern baldness, hirsutism, seborrhea, etc., based on increase of androgenic hormone stimulation. SOLUTION: The testosteron 5α-reductase inhibitor, the androgen receptor binding inhibitor and the antiandrogen agent having testosteron 5α-reductase inhibiting action and/or androgen receptor-binding inhibiting action are each obtained by extracting one or two or more kinds of plants selected from a group consisting of Taxus chinensis(Pilg.)Rehd., Canarium pimela Koenig, Heteropanax fragrans(Roxb.)Seem. and Andrographis paniculata(Burm.f.)Nees with water or an aqueous solvent such as a hydrophilic organic solvent or mixture solution of the hydrophilic organic solvent with water. The hair growing cosmetic, prostatic hypertrophy suppressing agent and health auxiliary agent are each obtained by using the testosteron 5α-reductase inhibitor and/or the androgen receptor binding inhibitor.
