PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the positional deviation of a toner image caused by the uneven thickness of an intermediate transfer belt. SOLUTION: This device is provided with pattern detection means 14a and 14b detecting a resist pattern formed on the intermediate transfer belt, a positional deviation arithmetic calculation means 15 retrieving positional deviation information in a transfer area on the intermediate transfer belt on the toner image formed by plural image stations based on the positional deviation information of one rotation of the intermediate transfer belt by the detection means 14a and 14b and calculating the mean value of the positional deviation in the transfer area, and a CPU 30 adjusting image forming timing by plural exposure means from the calculated result by the calculation means 15.
