PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture display control method permitting high gradation of a picture display such as a dissolving display without increasing the number of gradations of an original picture. SOLUTION: This method comprises a process for displaying plural interim pictures 20, 22, 24, 26 between a start point picture 12 and an end point picture 16 to use them for gradually moving a picture from the start point picture to the end point picture, and synthesizing the start point picture and the end point picture at a prescribed ratio to generate one or more intermediate pictures 14a, 14b, 14c, and a process for generating the plural interim pictures 20, 22, 24, 26 by synthesizing two adjacent pictures when arranging the interim pictures sequentially from the intermediate picture 14a containing the start point picture at a higher synthesizing ratio in succession to the start point picture 12 and arranging the end point picture in succession to the last intermediate picture 14c. |
