PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for boring a tunnel, capable of coping with the boring of the tunnel having a multi-centered circle-shaped cross section, dispensing with chipping operations and the placing of lining concrete, shortening a boring construction period, and reducing boring costs. SOLUTION: In the method and the device for boring the tunnel, when an undermining ditch excavating chain cutter 4 is moved with a cutter traversing device 3 along an arch-shaped guide frame 2 constituted in a single-centered circle-shaped manner, the chain cutter 4 is oscillated in the radial or opposite direction of the cross section of the tunnel for the purpose of excavating undermining ditches 5, etc., in a multi-centered circle-shaped manner as indicated in Figs. 1 and 5. |
