PURPOSE: A method for making a thin compact bearing is provided to enhance the density of a hollow pillar-shaped bearing by promptly supplying a powder material to a forming area in a die hole and compacting the powder material via a punch. CONSTITUTION: A powder material is filled in a die hole(21) of a die(20) while a lower punch(40) is spaced apart. Thereafter, the powder material is compressed by an upper punch(30) and the lower punch. Then, the lower punch is lifted up while the upper punch completely covers a bearing forming area. Herein, a compressing force is sufficiently diffused to the entire powder material while the powder material is sufficiently filled in the bearing forming area. Therefore, the density of a bearing is enhanced.
