A remote controller assists in controlling an On Screen Display (OSD) (e.g. <B>fig. 7</B>) by providing up, down, left and right direction buttons (<B>31</B>, <B>32</B>, <B>33</B> and <B>34</B> respectively) which allow the user to scroll through the available menu in a chosen direction to arrive at a particular location. A select button (<B>30</B>) allows the selection of the highlighted choice. Various other buttons, including colour buttons, allow selection of other functions, such as GUIDE (<B>23</B>) activating the OSD, INFO (<B>22</B>) which displays channel information banners and EXIT (<B>16</B>) which ends an application or the OSD. Also disclosed is a method of displaying information on the screen comprising a channel banner on an upper left part of the screen and a programme information banner on a lower portion of the screen, as well as an OSD in which analogue and digital menus are integrated. |
