PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a reflection plate by etching a glass substrate with excellent controllability and reproducibility of projection and recession and at a low production cost. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the reflection plate for a liquid crystal display panel contains a first etching step to form a plurality of dotted recessing parts 2 with a first etching liquid containing hydrofluoric acid and an ammonium compound as main components and a second etching step to enlarge the diameter of the recessing parts 2 by etching using the recessing parts 2 as starting points for the etching with a second etching liquid containing hydrofluoric acid as a main component and containing no ammonium compound. Thereby the recessing parts 2 are formed with the excellent controllability. Also a photolithography step or a film forming step is not needed and a production cost is drastically reduced. Furthermore, because a resin layer is not used in the reflection plate, a heating process up to the softening temperature of the glass nearly 650 deg.C, is possible and restriction on heating for the succeeding processes is eliminated. |
