<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an engine capable of preventing inaccurate deterioration diagnosis of an HC purifier. SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device for an engine is provided with an oxidation catalytic device 25 arranged in an exhaust passage from the engine, the HC purifier 27 arranged downstream of the oxidation catalytic device and provided with an HC adsorbing material adsorbing HC in exhaust gas at low temperature and releasing the adsorbed HC following temperature rising, an oxygen feed amount control means 40 controlling an oxygen feed amount so that an oxygen concentration in a downstream side of an HC adsorbing purifier becomes a predetermined concentration, an oxidation catalyst deterioration diagnosing device 45 diagnosing deterioration of the oxidation catalytic device, an HC adsorbing material deterioration diagnosing means 43 diagnosing deterioration of the HC adsorbing material, and a deterioration diagnosis regulating means 46 regulating the deterioration diagnosis of the HC adsorbing material by the HC adsorbing material deterioration diagnosing means when deterioration of the oxidation catalytic device is detected.</p> |
