DRIVING CIRCUIT FOR DISPLAY DEVICE AND DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a driving circuit in which a small-capacity voltage source can be used for reference voltages and the number of reference voltages which are to be inputted from the outside can be reduced and to realize a display device using the same driving circuit. SOLUTION: This driving circuit is provided with a reference voltage selecting circuit which selects the reference voltage of a reference voltage source in accordance with a digital video signal indicating gradation and outputs the selected reference voltage. The reference voltage generated by the reference voltage source is constituted of a voltage supplied from the outside of an LSI and a voltage to be obtained by a voltage dividing circuit 2 provided in the same LSI as that of a driving circuit 1. The reference voltage is supplied to a plurality of driving circuits in the same LSI, and the reference voltage selecting circuit supplies a voltage which is selected in accordance with the digital video signal sampled with sampling pulses which are generated with a shift clock circuit provided in the same LSI as that of the driving circuit 1 to a display device via a buffer amplifier whose input impedance is large and whose output impedance is small.
