PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear projection type screen, capable of obtaining clear images of high contrast, and to provide a method for manufacturing the screen. SOLUTION: The rear projection type screen has at least a lenticular lens sheet 2 and a translucent sheet 3, and the sheet 2 has plural lenticular lenses 21 arranged on one face of a translucent substrate, a convex lens part 22 arranged on a position for converging light from the lens 21 on the other face of the substrate and a convex external light absorbing part 25 arranged on a position different from the converging position on the other face of the substrate. Both the sheets 2, 3 are stuck to each other by a black adhesive 242 for absorbing external light on the top of the external light absorbing part 25 so that the adhesive 242 is stuck to the sheet 3 over an area exceeding the top part of the absorption part 25.
