PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent having both a water-repellency and an oil- repellency exhibiting extremely high water repellency/oil repellency both of which are essentially required for fluororesins, and a water-repellent/oil-repellent agent composition which contains the water-repellent/oil-repellent agent and has high water repellency/oil repellency. SOLUTION: This water-repellent/oil-repellent agent comprises a polyether having a polymerization unit represented by formula (I) [Xs are the same or different and each hydrogen atom, fluorine atom or chlorine atom; Rf is a terminal fluorine atom-containing fluoroalkyl group or a group represented by the formula (AO)m-B-R1 (R1 is a perfluoroalkyl group; A is a 1-3C alkylene group; (m) is a number of 1-20; B is a 1-6C alkylene group; mA groups may be the same or different)]. The water-repellent/oil-repellent agent composition comprises the water-repellent/oil-repellent agent. The water-repellent/oil-repellent agent composition further may contain a polyether.
