PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an emulsion composition for coating glass containers, having high preservation stability and coatability, capable of forming a coating film of excellent water resistance, dew condensation resistance flaw hiding power and touch feeling on a base material at room temperature after applied onto the base material, and free from such problems as oil floating when sunk underwater coati liquid running out due to dew condensation water and slipperiness, thus having comprehensively excellent performance. SOLUTION: This emulsion composition is obtained by merely mechanically emuisifying a mixture comprising (A) a silanol group-terminated polydiorqanosiloxane of the general formula: HO(R2SiO)mH (wherein, R2 are each a (non) substituted univalent hydrocarbon group and may be different from each other; and (m) is such a number that the viscosity of the component A is 10-50 cP at 25 deg.C), (B) a surfactant and (C) water.
