SOLUTION: This paper feeding device is equipped with a pick mechanism for successively sending out paper sheets loaded on a chute 13, paper sheet guides provided along a feeding path for the paper sheets, and a feed roller for feeding paper sheets sent out from the pick mechanism along the paper sheet guides to an image reading position 16. A material 30 softer than the read surfaces of the paper sheets is stuck to the image read side of the sheet guides.
