PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set an optimum image forming condition by making the quantity of data on a density detection pattern large. SOLUTION: In this tandem type image forming device where the image forming condition is set in accordance with the image density of each color density detection pattern transferred to a carrying transfer belt 23 from image carriers 19 (Y, M, C and K), the length T1 of an interval between the respective abutting parts of the respective image carriers 19 and the belt 23 is set to be longer than the length of the density detection pattern in a subscanning direction, and forming the density detection pattern on the respective image carriers 19 and transferring the density detection pattern to the belt 23 from the respective image carriers 19 are performed at plural positions different in a main scanning direction. Therefore, the optimum image forming condition is set by the density detection pattern having the large quantity of data. |
