PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accumulator made noiseless at a low cost. SOLUTION: The accumulator 10 comprises a sealed container comprising a bottomed upper case 2 having a through hole in a bottom thereof and a lower case 3, an inlet tube 4 inserted and fixed in the through hole 2a of the upper case, a screen 5 provided within the upper case for preventing dust from entering and dividing a flow into a liquid refrigerant flow and a vapor refrigerant flow, an outlet tube 7 inserted to a vicinity of the screen from the through hole 3a of the case fixed in the hole and connected to a suction port 1a of a compressor 1, and a baffle plate 6 provided within the lower case for fixing the outlet tube. Further, the accumulator stores and vaporize returned liquid refrigerant and supplies the refrigerant to the compressor. The upper case and the lower case have different dimensions and resonance frequencies in the upper, and lower cases of the container are different from one another so that air column resonance can hardly occur and noises are drastically reduced. Thus, the accumulator made noiseless at a low cost can be provided.
