PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluorine-containing copolymer which is obtained by copolymerizing a monomer mixture containing a fluorine- containing monomer, and having an improved discoloration property on molding it. SOLUTION: This method for producing the fluorine-containing copolymer is provided by performing a radical copolymerization of the monomer mixture containing at least 1 kind of the fluorine-containing monomer in the presence of <=1/50 fold molar amount 2-(perfluoroalkyl)ethanethiol.
