PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate with high luminance and less uneven brightness as a surface light source. SOLUTION: The light guide plate 1 guides light 4 emitted from a light source 2 arranged on a side face to a liquid crystal display part 3. The plate 1 is provided with a side face reflection part 11 formed on the side face opposite to the light source 2, one surface 12 opposite to an irradiated body 3 and the other surface 13 opposite to the surface 12 and composed of a plurality of regions having different cross shapes. The first region 131 closest to the light source 2 is provided with an inclined surface 51 guiding the light 4 from the side of the light source 2 to the direction of the side face reflection part 11 while fully reflecting the light 4 and a first outgoing light catching surface 52 emitting the light 4 from the side of the light source 2 from one surface 12. The second region 132 closest to the side face reflection part 11 is provided with a second outgoing light catching surface 62 emitting the light 4 from the side of the light source 2 from the surface 12 and a returning light catching surface 61 emitting light 41 from the side face reflection part 11 side from the surface 12.
