PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which is easy to use according to the photographer's age by changing the specifications of the camera and the operating state of the camera, after detecting the photographer's age, for realizing a camera for detecting the photographer's age in order to accomplish a camera whose operability is improved, without photographer's being made aware of this. SOLUTION: The camera is provided with a photographer's characteristics detecting means 1 for detecting the photographer's characteristics, such as the features of the photographer's eyes, or the characteristics regarding the camera operating speed, etc., by the photographer an age-estimating means 2 for estimating the photographer's age, based on the value detected by the characteristics detecting means, and a control means 3 with a specification changing function of changing the operating state of the camera (for example, display state, voice output state, time for determining the detection of the operating state, prescribed member operation speed, etc.), according to the estimated age by the age-estimating means.
