PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter device with which the reference position of the operation of a shutter blade is detected with high accuracy and of which miniaturization and cost reduction are attained, and to provide a camera thereof. SOLUTION: This device is provided with the shutter blade 110, constituted of first and second blade members 111 and 112 performing operation to open and close an aperture 113 in accordance with the lapse of time, a PI sensor 120 to detect the pinhole position of the operation of the shutter blade 110 and a slit 130, which is integrally operated with the shutter blade 110 and which is formed so that the output value of the PI sensor is transited with a timing such that the shutter blade 110 passes through the pinhole position and the output value of the PI sensor 120 is set to be a maximum value, when the shutter blade 110 is in entirely a close state but it is set to be a minimum value, when it is in a fully opened state.
