PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which makes space saving possible. SOLUTION: This copying machine 50 has an electrostatic charge CH 3 which uniformly electrostatically charges a photoreceptor drum 1, a developing device 60 which develops the electrostatic latent image formed on the electrostatically charged photoreceptor drum 1 to a sensible image as a toner image, a cleaning device 61 which removes the residual toners of transfer remaining on the photoreceptor drum 1 after the transfer and a roller-like removing member 26 which removes the electric discharge products adhered to the photoreceptor drum 1. The front layer of the removing member 26 is a highly water absorptive material layer 25 and the lower layer thereof is a hydrous elastic layer 24. The electric discharge products are removed while the electric discharge products are dammed up by bringing the removing member 26 into contact with the photoreceptor drum 1. The removing member is parted from the photoreceptor drum 1 after the removal of the electric discharge products. The removing member 26 is brought into contact with the photoreceptor drum 1 in such a manner that the contact surface of the removing member 26 with the photoreceptor drum 1 is different from the contact surface of the previous time.
