PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease deviation in position of a toner image generated by unevenness in thickness of an intermediate transfer belt. SOLUTION: A color image forming device is provided with pattern detecting means 14a and 14b detecting a resist pattern formed on the intermediate transfer belt and an image forming timing control means 33 which adjusts the image forming timing by a multiple number of exposing means so that an average value of deviation in position in a transfer range on the intermediate transfer belt in a toner image that is formed on a multiple number of image stations is made minimum based on the average value of the deviation in the position that is calculated from information of the deviation in position of the resist pattern on the intermediate transfer belt by the pattern detecting means 14a and 14b.
