PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide large-sized plate earthenware products which can be exactly designed in product shapes and dimensions after firing while maintaining necessary mechanical strength as the earthenware products, are good in surface accuracy and dimensional accuracy, hardly give rise to the degradation in yield based on shrinkage and deformation and are better in efficiency of packing into kilns and productivity than heretofore. SOLUTION: The earthenware products consists of earthenware bodies and glaze layers formed in the necessary segments on the bodies. The products may be manufactured by a method including a process step of firing the products at 1,100 to 1,300 deg.C. The shrinkage rate of firing in the longitudinal direction of the bodies in the firing process step described above is <=6%; the softening deformation rate of the bodies in the firing process step is <=10 mm, the bulk density of the bodies is 1.6 to 2.1 g/cm3 and the relation between the bulk density and bending strength (Sb) of the bodies is Sb>60×Db-60 (MPa). The CaO component segregation parts where CaO components are segregated scatter in the bodies. The earthenware products formed by using such bodies are the large-sized earthenware products having plane parts as represented by draft chamber top boards, kitchen front boards, step plate, counters and surgical tables.
