PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial soil structure which is simple in construction, light in weight, easy to control and maintain, and can be mounted in a simplified manner. SOLUTION: According to the artificial soil structure, by stretching a plurality of mono filaments or plural fibers across a basic braid portion 1 and an upper braid portion 2, porous crushed stones 4 are twined about an intermediate support portion 3, and they are held in one body together with the intermediate support portion 3. Thus, the artificial soil is rendered simple and the entire weight thereof is reduced. Further, the porous crushed stones 4 can be held in one body together with the intermediate support portion 3, and do not leak or slip out from the same, whereby the artificial soil structure is easily mounted not only on a roof and a roof floor on the horizontal plane but also on those on a slant surface. In addition, the procedure of storing the porous crushed stones 4 in the intermediate support portion 3 need not be necessarily carried out on the roof, the roof floor, or the like. Besides, if the porous crushed stones 4 and the intermediate support portion 3 for storing the same are divided into rectangular pieces or band-shaped pieces, the divided pieces can be partially separated to be exchanged, which facilitates management and maintenance of the artificial soil structure after mounting thereof.
