PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which produce an image having high quality and no color slurs at a high speed, and is compact, consumes little power, and is reduced in cost, and an image-forming apparatus using the optical scanner. SOLUTION: The optical scanner is provided with plural light-emitting elements 11, 12, 13, and 14 which emit a light beams toward different scanned faces located at plural stages in the subscanning direction, plural coupling lenses 21, 22, 23, and 24 which couple the light beams emitted from the plural light- emitting elements with a subsequent optical system, a light deflector 4 which deflects and scans respective light beams, a scanning and focusing elements 51, 52, 53, and 54 which converge the plural light beams emitted from the light deflector onto the scanned faces, located in correspondence with the respective light beams. Each light beam, emitted from each light emitting element and enters into the light deflector 4, is located substantially on a straight line, and the plural light-emitting elements 11, 12, 13, and 14 and the coupling lenses 21, 22, 23, and 24 are fixed on the same member 110.
