The front and rear jaws (2, 3) of the ski binding are connected by a transmission member arranged to form a parallelogram with the rotary points of the jaws so that lateral displacements of the jaws in the same direction deviate from the parallelogram and are blocked but remain unobstructed in opposite directions. When the jaws move sideways in the same direction the boot is held whilst it is released when the jaws move in opposite directions.
