PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film unit with a lens which takes proper photographs under various photographic conditions. SOLUTION: When a photometry switch 55 built in a shutter mechanism is turned on with a shutter button pressed, an AE circuit 54 measures the luminance of a subject by a photometric element 52. When the subject luminance is low, a photograph is taken through a large stop hole 38 and when the subject luminance is high, a stop plate 41 is swung by electrifying an electromagnet 46 to put a small stop hole 42 on the optical axis of photography. Aperture values, shutter speeds, and photographic speeds for a full aperture and a small aperture are so set that 6<=AV+TV-SV+5<11.5 for the full aperture and 10.5<=AV+TV-SV+5<=15 for the small aperture.
