PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a lens-driving device common by automatically recognizing an identification means provided in a lens body by the lens-driving device, reading out lens data suitable for a lens from a memory and carrying out lens control. SOLUTION: The lens body 24 is equipped with the identification means 56, capable of providing identification information specific to a machine kind. When a driving unit 12 is attached to the body 24, information showing the kind of a lens (model name) is acquired by a lens model name reading means 58, and the kind of object lens control is recognized automatically. A CPU 34 reads out the data, corresponding to the kind of the lens from the memory 54 and carries out the lens control. The lens model name, focal distance data, MOD, ramping correction data, pumping correction (viewing angle correction) data, and pupil position data or the like are included in the lens data. A connector where pin arrangement is changed, a bar code and a key-shaped projecting part or the like can be applied to the identification means 56.
