PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit using a torque motor providing a prescribed torque relative to an appropriate rotation position. SOLUTION: This drive unit is provided with a torque motor 10 to be a drive source, a gear train transmitting the rotation from a motor shaft 1 of the torque motor to a driven shaft 13, a noncircular drive gear 11 having the gear train fixed to the motor shaft, and a noncircular driven gear 12 fixed to the driven shaft and geared with the noncircular drive gear. When a current is fed to the torque motor 10 and the motor shaft 1 is rotated, the rotation is transmitted from the noncircular drive gear 11 to the noncircular driven gear 12 to rotate the driven gear. Then, the torque of the torque motor 10 is transmitted to the driven shaft in an increased or decreased state according to the rotation position.
