PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a coated optical fiber selecting device which has simple mechanism and requires few adjustments. SOLUTION: This coated optical fiber selecting device is equipped with an optical fiber array 3, which has optical fibers 2 arrayed and fixed in respective V grooves 1 on the surface of a substrate; a moving fiber holding part 5, having a mechanism which holds at least one optical fiber 4, which can move in parallel with the array direction of the V grooves, and the function of the optical fiber 4 in and out of the V grooves; and a moving fiber presser 6 which has the function of pressing the moving fiber 4 against the V groove; so that the moving fiber holding part 5 and moving fiber presser 6 are made to swing and drive vertically about a center axis 15 of rotation being a mechanical fulcrum with the metal attracting forces produced by electromagnets 12 and 14 and the restoring forces of springs 11 and 13. |
