PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent engaging failure of a gear and eliminate waste and malfunction, in the electric power steering device in which a torque limiter is interposed between a power transmitting shaft and a cored bar of a gear. SOLUTION: The torque limiter 1 has a ring shape having a plurality of circumferential projections 1b, and a diameter directional force corresponding to elastically deformation amount of the projections 1b is applied to the power transmitting shaft 2 and the cored bar 4a of the gear 4. In the torque limiter 1, hardness of the projections 1b is set larger than that of the cored bar 4a of the gear 4 or the power transmitting shaft 2, and a part of a ring 1a has an axially separated separation part 1c. The gear 4 is formed around a shaft center 10 of the power transmitting shaft 2 as the center of a pitch circle 9 in an abutting state between the outer peripheral surface of the power transmitting shaft 2 and the inner peripheral surface of the cored bar 4a of the gear 4 at the separation part 1c. |
