PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stroboscopic device capable of surely reducing impact applied to a camera body at the finish of its erection. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a stroboscopic body rotatably supported by the camera body and incorporated with at least a strobe flashing part, an arm whose one end is rotatably attached to the stroboscopic body and whose another end has a cam engagement part, a guide member, which is movable attached to the camera body and has a cam part with which the cam engagement part of the arm is engaged, an arm-energizing means for energizing the arm in the rotating direction, and a guide member energizing means for energizing the guide member in the moving direction. The cam part of the guide member has a shape with the stroboscope body being rotated in the direction of erecting according to the rotation of the arm by the arm- energizing means, thus the angle formed by the intersection of the moving direction of the cam-engaging part which moves along the cam part and the axial direction of the arm is set to nearly 90 deg. or 90 deg. at the position just, immediately before the stroboscope main body is erected.
