PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion device which can control the rotation of a fan during a combustion operation in accordance with the degree of closure of an air supply and exhaust passage by assuredly detecting the closure of the air supply and exhaust passage even when the rotating speed of the fan or the current value of the fan during the combustion operation are relatively low. SOLUTION: A fan control means 2 for controlling the rotating speed of the fan to supply air and exhaust air from a burner is provided with a measuring means 4 for rotating the fan at prescribed rotating speed upon pre-purge to measure the current value of the fan, a closure degree detecting means 7 for detecting the degree of closure of the air supply and exhaust passage by comparing the measured current value of the fan with a preset determined value and a rotating speed correcting means 13 for correcting the rotating speed of the fan during the combustion operation in accordance with the degree of closure of the air supply and exhaust passage.
