PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a web joining device capable of removing a defective part of a web and easily conducting pattern fitting work. SOLUTION: A first table 7 and a second table 9 both having a web holding surface are installed so as to be capable of opening and closing, a web 4 is arranged on the first table and the second table in an opened state, a dancer roll 11 is lowered from the upper part of the web 4, the defective part of the web 4 is drawn out downward from between the first and second tables 7, 9, after that, the first table 7 and the second table 9 are closed, pattern fitting of the webs on the tables is conducted, a joining tape 20 is stuck to the joining parts of them, and then the web drawn out downward is cut and removed.
