PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inspecting a photosensitive material transporting unit which is good in the workability of inspection and can be reduced in material cost, and an inspection apparatus for the photosensitive material transporting unit. SOLUTION: This method of inspecting the photosensitive material transporting unit inspects whether drive rollers 20 and 22 and press-contact rollers for nipping and transporting the photosensitive materials are in the assembled state requiring regulation to transport the photosensitive materials by allowing the materials to meander or not. While a sheet S for inspection is being nipped and transported by the drive rollers 20 and 22 and the press-contact rollers, linear marks 72 and 73 along the transporting direction are synchronously drawn by a mark forming machine 70 in a sheet segment S1 for inspection on one side of the transverse direction of transportation and a sheet segment S2 for inspection on the other side. The lengths A and B of a pair of the drawn linear marks 72 and 73 are compared and it is judged that the rollers described above are in the assembled state requiring regulation when the difference between these lengths exceeds a prescribed length.
