PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize more accurate focusing and observation by preventing excess external light from getting into field at focusing or when observing a sample, and to reduce fatigue, by facilitating work which is different from the operation of a microscope when performing such a work. SOLUTION: This optical microscopic is provided with a display means for displaying operation state, a light-emitting means 5B for illuminating the display means and a detection means 1 for detecting an observer of the microscope, who is located within a prescribed range. The device is equipped with an external output means 8 for causing external electrical equipment 9 to actuate and a control means 4 for controlling the light-emitting means 5B and the external output means 8.
