PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multipurpose waist nipper easily and rapidly wearable even not only by a wearer but also by a helper such as a nurse or by the wearer in a bed-ridden state. SOLUTION: This multipurpose type waist nipper comprises a front and lateral cover member for covering the front part and both lateral parts of the waist part, tightening members respectively provided at both ends in the transverse direction of the front and lateral cover member and nipping bands for engaging extended from the tips of the respective tightening members. The width of the respective tightening members is gradually narrowed from the base end to the tips which are located on nearly the center line of the tightening members. A part for making a nipping band for engaging insertable and passable so as to insert and pass the nipping band for engaging installed at the tip of either one of tightening members is formed in at least the other tightening member and an engaging tool composing the engaging side of a Hook-and-Loop fastener is provided in each nipping band for engaging. The front and lateral cover member is equipped with each engageable tool composing the engageable side of the Hook-and-Loop fastener and detachably engaged with the engaging tool.
