PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sulfur-containing organosilicon compound in which sulfur is bonded through a divalent hydrocarbon group and then oxygen to silicon and a method for efficiently producing the above compound in mild conditions. SOLUTION: This method for producing a sulfur-containing organosilicon compound of formula 1 comprises carrying out dealcohol condensation of a sulfur-containing organosilicon compound represented by an average structural formula 1 [R1 is a monovalent organic group; R2 are same and different 1-15C divalent hydrocarbon groups; R3 is an alkyl group; (a) is a number of 0-3, (b) is a number of >=1, (c) is a number of 0 to (4-a)/2)b, (d) is a number of 0 to (4-a)b and c+d is a number of >=1; (x) is a number of 1-6] and (A) an alkoxysilane represented by a structural formula R1bSi(OR3)(4-a') (R1 and R3 are each as mentioned above; a' is an integer of 0-3) or a mixture thereof with (B) a sulfur-containing organic compound represented by a structural formula HO-R2-Sx'-R2-OH (R2 is as mentioned above; x' is an integer of 1-6) or a mixture thereof at a room temperature to 200 deg.C.
