PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laser scanning optical microscope with which a bright fluorescent image is obtained by preventing a laser beam and fluorescence from being lost by a mirror. SOLUTION: This laser scanning optical microscope is equipped with an objective optical system 5 for condensing the laser beam emitted from a laser beam source 1 on a sample 6 and a movable mirror 3 as a scanning means for scanning the sample 6, relative to the condensed laser spot. In the microscope, a silver vacuum-deposited mirror is used as the mirror.
