PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect whether or not a moving member moves to an optional set position and to prevent the damage of a switch, a dog or the like even if an operation lever is erroneously operated by the drop of a load or the like and thereafter the operation lever is further operated, in a position detecting device for detecting the position of the moving member with respect to a fixing member of an industrial vehicle. SOLUTION: The dog 21 is fixed on the moving member side, and the operation lever 17 is operated by the lifting or the lowering of the dog 21, so that a cam rotation shaft 16 is rotated. The projection part 43 of a cam is housed by forming a slot part 42 in the inside surface of the cam 40, and a microswitch 25 is turned on or off by rotating the cam 40 by a normal operation of the operation lever 17. Since the cam 40 is not rotated by an erroneous operation of the operation lever 17, the microswitch 25 is not turned on or off.
