PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy method for estimating formaldehyde concentration in gas inside the room of a house. SOLUTION: Structural members inside a house are divided into interior members, for which the formaldehyde concentration in gas is determined by the dimensions of the room, and housing parts, for which the formaldehyde concentration is determined by the number of parts. A conversion reference value is found by multiplying an actual measurement reference value found by actually measuring a formaldehyde concentration in gas in the interior member kept in a constant condition by a predetermined air space ratio conversion coefficient corresponding to the dimension of the room. A conversion additional value is found by multiplying an actual measurement additional value of each housing part unit found by actually measuring a formaldehyde concentration in gas in the housing part kept in a constant condition by a predetermined air space ratio conversion coefficient complying with the dimension of the room. Subsequently, a total conversion additional value found by multiplying the conversion additional value of each hosing part unit by its number respectively is added to the conversion reference value, and consequently, an estimated formaldehyde concentration in gas inside the room is found.
