Vehicle body of hybrid construction and method of its manufacturing

Rail carriage bodies are made using a novel hybrid construction method. A shaped mandrel is used to wind the body. The body is then separated along a longitudinal line, into halves which form its main components (2). The innovation is incorporation of connecting components (8) for elements of the window frames (13), which takes place on both sides of the line of separation, during the winding process. Also claimed is a carriage shell formed as described.
