POLARIZING PLATE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate with excellent reliability under high temperature or high humidity and with excellent durability, for which a PVA(polyvinyl alcohol) type polarizer is used and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: An iodine-PVA type polarizer with 30 μm thickness is heated and dried at 50 deg.C for 30 min to form a polarizer with 4.9 wt.% water content. A PVA type adhesive is applied on a norbornene type resin film (JSR Corporation, trade name 'Arton') with 100 μm thickness used as a protective film and dried. The polarizing plate is obtained by sticking the norbornene type resin protective films to the both surfaces of the polarizer via the PVA type adhesive layer.
