PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve responsiveness of an electronic throttle control. SOLUTION: When a final DUTY formed by totaling a DUTY before a guard processing calculated as a throttle controlled variable to a previous carry- over DUTY exceeds 100%, or the limit value, the excess is added to a next DUTY before the guard processing as a carry-over DUTY so as to find the next final DUTY. If the next final DUTY exceeds 100%, the excess becomes the carry-over DUTY again, the excess DUTY is added to the DUTY before the guard processing one after another so as to find the next final DUTY but one. After this, a similar process is repeated. However, when the carry-over DUTY >0 (final DUTY >100%) is continuously repeated for a prescribed time, then the carry-over DUTY is set to 0, and the excess is prevented from carried over to the next. When a prescribed time elapses after completing the straddle control, the carry-over DUTY is set to 0 and it is prevented from carried over.
