PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jet pump capable of generating an adequate negative pressure by a good liquid seal, allowing setting of diameters of a throttle part of a chamber and a throat pipe to an optimum diameter without limit, providing an ample transferring flow and minimizing lowering of the transferring flow even at occurrence of a cavitation. SOLUTION: An inside diameter D2 on a discharging tip side 42 of the throat pipe 4 is formed smaller than an inside diameter D1 of a base end side 41 in the range of D1/D2=1.01-2. The small diameter part 42 is folded by approximately 90 degrees from the base end side 41. Hydraulic fluid ejected form a jet nozzle 2 is retained inside the throat pipe 4 for submerging rapidly a tip part of the jet nozzle 2 in liquid to make the liquid seal.
