PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loft ladder apparatus which can hold a ladder main body in a suitable position without providing a stopper on a lower-story floor surface, and does not incur increase in construction cost and degradation in safety, to thereby facilitate setting and housing of the ladder main body. SOLUTION: The loft ladder apparatus 1 is formed of a support frame 2 which can be mounted on an upper portion of a wall surface W, and the ladder main body 3 which has its upper end connected to the support frame 2 in a vertically movable and rotatable manner. The ladder main body 3 can be switched between a service position in which its lower end makes contact with the lower-story floor surface F1 while the ladder is put up on the wall surface W, and a housed position in which the main body is almost vertically placed near the wall surface W. The ladder apparatus 1 thus formed is comprised of a link mechanism 19 at the support frame 2, which sways the ladder main body 3 so as to trace a track Q. According to the track Q, the lower end of the ladder main body 3 assuming the service position is once lifted in a diagonal upward direction in order to be separated from the wall surface W, and then approaches the wall surface W while maintaining a lifted position from the lower-story floor surface F2.
