PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally-actuated steam trap capable of easily removing a temperature control element from a body and rapidly discharging a large volume of low temperature fluid at the time of starting. SOLUTION: A valve chest 4 having an inlet 2 and an outlet 3 opened therein is formed by installing a cover member 5 on the body 1 having the inlet 2 and the outlet 3 formed therein. The temperature control element 8 comprising an upper wall member 10 having a filler 9, a plug member 11 sealing the filler 9, a diaphragm member 13 forming a storage chamber 12 in the clearance thereof from the upper wall member 10, an expansion medium 14 sealed in the storage chamber 12, a valve member 15 fixed to the diaphragm member 13 and opening and closing a valve hole 6 by unseating from and seating on the valve seat member 7, and a lower wall member 16 fixing the outer peripheral edge of the diaphragm member 13 by sandwiching the diaphragm member 13 in the clearance thereof from the upper wall member 10 is disposed in a mounting member 17. The temperature control element 8 comprises the lower outer peripheral surface of the lower wall member 16 allowed to holdingly abut on the step part 19 of the mounting member 17 by the extension at a high temperature of a coiled shape memory alloy 18 as a thermally-actuated member having one end fixed to the cover member 5 and the other end fixed to the temperature control element 8. The shape memory alloy 18 contracts at a low temperature to pull up the temperature control element 8 to assure a sufficient flow path in the clearance thereof from the valve seat member 7.
