PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that only a specified vergence angle, i.e., structure feel, complying with an automatic control program, can be obtained only by automatically controlling the vergence angle according to subject distance information. SOLUTION: The stereoscopic photographic optical unit 1 which has left side optical systems 112 and 113 and right side optical systems 107 and 108 and allows the photography of stereoscopically observable videos to be carried out through these optical systems is provided with a vergence angle operating mechanism 380 for adjusting the vergence angle of the optical axes of both optical systems according to the arbitrary operation of a user. Further, the unit is provided with the vergence angle operating mechanism described above and an automatic vergence angle adjusting mechanism 350 for automatically controlling the vergence angle of the optical axes of both optical systems in accordance with the subject distance information. |
