PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an adhesion of a fluorescent substance for an cathode ray tube to the inside of a panel, to prevent a film reduction of a fluorescent film and consequently to improve a quality of a cathode ray tube. SOLUTION: The surface of a fluorescent substance particle is subjected to a surface treatment for attaching a silica having <=10 nm average particle diameter to the surface of the fluorescent substance particle. A fluorescence film of a cathode ray tube is formed by using such a fluorescent substance.
