PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent jamming from occurring because paper is wound round an image carrier. SOLUTION: This color image forming device 1 is equipped with a drum 2 having a large diameter, a drum 3 having a smaller diameter than the drum 2, and a transfer belt 4 being an endless belt type image carrier laid over the drums 2 and 3. Plural image forming parts 5Y, 5M, 5C and 5K are arranged side by side in the rotating direction of the drum 2 around the drum 2. Image forming parts 5Y, 5M, 5C and 5K form images on a photoreceptor drums 6Y, 6M, 6C and 6K by an electrophotographic system. The drums 6Y, 6M, 6C and 6K contact with the belt 4 so that the formed images on the drums 6Y, 6M, 6C and 6K may be transferred to the belt 4.
