A surface-forming polyurethane material is injected into a mold cavity having a reduced pressure to form the surface portion of a molded product such as the covering of a steering wheel. Subsequently, an inner-forming polyurethane material for forming an inner portion of the molded product is injected into the cavity. By the time the inner-forming polyurethane material is injected, the surface-forming polyurethane material is cured to the extent that it may not be reduced in thickness by the streams of the inner-forming polyurethane material. <IMAGE>
